2nd Annual Battle of the Buzz event restructured, field expands to 33 starters for a $10K to win one-day show

Officials at Arrowhead Speedway have decided to restructure the 2nd Annual Battle of the Buzz presented by America’s Car-Mart Siloam Springs. As a measure to decrease the cost for teams traveling to the event, the event is being shortened from a demanding four-day show to two days; Friday, October 4th and Saturday, October 5th. Furthermore, after listening to feedback from racers, the format will include time trials again this year, but will be structured differently.  

 

Drivers who have already pre-entered will receive a full refund and the event will carry NO ENTRY FEE!

 

Friday’s program will consist of the following:

-Open practice from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. All cars welcome.

-“Happy Hour Qualifying” from 9:00 pm to 10:00 pm. (Tuners only).

 

In Happy Hour Qualifying, teams will be allowed as many laps as they want to run in the one-hour window. The best time will receive a $250 bonus.

 

Pre-tech will open at 9:00 am, pit gates will open at a time yet to be determined and practice will begin at 6:00 pm. Pit passes will be $35. Grandstands will not be open on Friday.

 

Saturday’s program will consist of the following:

-Full program for Tuners. Format will be draw & passing points. Tuners will run double heats (2nd set of heats will be inverted and shifted from the original draw).

-Top 18 in passing points lock in to the A-Main, the next 12 starters will come from the B-Main(s) and there will be one starter from the each of the following: the “Win & You’re In LCQ”, best time from Friday qualifying that does not lock in and a RaceOn.com “Fan Vote Provisional.”

-Full program of Interceptors, Sooner State Dwarf Cars, USRA B-Mods and USRA Stock Cars will also be in action.

 

Pit gates will open at a time yet to be determined, grandstand gates will open at 4:00 pm and hot laps will begin at 5:30 pm with racing to follow. Pit passes will be $40. Grandstands will be $20 for adults (13+), $5 for kids (6-12) and kids 5-under will be FREE.

 

The 2nd Annual Battle of the Buzz presented by America’s Car-Mart Siloam Springs Championship A-Main payout will be adjusted to the following payout from last year’s event:

1st $10,000, 2nd $5,000, 3rd $2,500, 4th $1,250, 5th $1,000, 6th $750, 7th $500, 8th $475, 9th $450, 10th $425, 11th $400, 12th $375, 13th $350, 14th $325, 15th – 20th $300, 21st – 33rd $250.

 

The “Win & You’re In LCQ” (number of starters based on car count) payout will be:

1st transfers to A-Main, 2nd $200, 3rd $150, 4th $100, all other starters $50.

Drivers who fail to qualifier for the “Win & You’re In LCQ” will not receive NQ pay.

 

As a reminder, event rules are as follows:

USRA Tuner Rules will apply with the following exceptions/amendments to Rule 14.1: Ballast (added weight) is permitted so long as the weight is located behind the drivers seat and distributed evenly. The weight rule will still be 2,300 lbs. IMCA cars are welcome so long as they meet the minimum weight requirement.

 

POWRi cars will also be welcome as aftermarket nose pieces will be allowed.
