QUALIFYING PROCEDURES

Pre-Tech opens Monday: Every driver must go thru pre-tech when arriving at the track and get approved on all items. If you have questions, ask the tech officials and they will answer your questions. They are in charge and have final call on rules decisions. Those racing later in the week will also need to tech.

MYLAPS transponders required: The 9th Annual Summit USRA Nationals will require MYLAPS transponders and those will be available for rent or purchase if you do not already have one. All of the classes will be required to use this transponder. Your data will be hooked into the Jumbo Tron screen at the Lucas Oil Speedway. Rentals will be $50 for the week or $20 per day.

Modifieds, Stock Cars, B-Mods and Hobby Stocks will compete in four heats from four different starting spots (front, back, middle, middle) on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Each class will compete in qualifying Heat Races and A-Mains on two (2) days with the Summit Shootout for that class on the other day. Each day that your class has Heat Races, the top 16 in passing points will advance to that night's A-Main.

Combined points using each driver’s three best points nights (fourth is tiebreaker) will determine the lineups for Saturday’s A-Mains. The top 18 in passing points for Modifieds, and top 16 for Stock Cars, B-Mods and Hobby Stocks are locked into Saturday's A-Mains. Additional A-Main starters will transfer from Friday's Last Chance Races and B-Mains. Saturday's A-Mains in these four classes will have 30 cars starting three-wide.

Late Models and Tuners will run a complete show of Heat Races, B-Main(s) and an A-Main on Thursday with the top 12 in Thursday’s A-Mains locked into Friday’s A-Main. Both classes will run B-Main(s) and their championship A-Main on Friday.

Limited Mods and Factory Stocks will run a complete show of Heat Races, B-Main(s) and an A-Main on Friday with the top 12 in Friday’s A-Mains locked into Saturday’s A-Mains. Both classes will run B-Main(s) and an A-Main on Saturday.

Based on USRA national points, two (2) provisional starters will be added to the rear of every A-Main every night  in every class. Also all drivers in each class will get 100 bonus points in the Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series national points in addition to the normal national points awarded each night. No track, regional or national points are awarded at any other event during the Summit USRA Nationals.
